Murdered

~he murdered me~

I was only 21 years old
Here I lay, beyond the cold

I  granted him, the best of me
Praying for his love endlessly

I never listened to anybody's advice
Only to my husband and his lies

He bore a bad habit of beating me
No matter, his love was all I could see
 
On my last day, he took me by surprise
Now everyone around me cries

It's too late to tell all my loved ones good-bye
Or, even understand the reason why?

Today I'm in a place where he can't touch me
In a box called a coffin, only I can see

While you stay and rot behind in jail
God did and took me away from your hell

Wow P.D., This is powerful! So true for too many. And for many, this "happy ending" never comes compared to their endless hell.

Nice job! Love powerful themes like this one. I hope it wasn't a personal experience that inspired it, like a loved one who is the deceased in your piece, but this was fantastic, love it!

thanks for your comment on my poem..love faith joy..i wasnt sure were to say thank you at..anyway..i really like this poem..it just made me think of my cousin who died on 7.28.06 at the hands of her boyfriend..wow..i mean this one really hit home..and she was the same age as well..her birthday is this month..anyway..i really enjoyed this poem..like i said it hit home..

Thank you so much ....try wasting 10 years it will literally make you sick and I still get harrassed by him but GOD is so good.He protects me and he literally took me out of that situation.It took all I had to leave but I would not trade it for anything.Just forgive him and move on it will be the best choice you could make.
