Mum

Although departed from this place
Still feel you’re warmth upon my face
A mother’s love is so unique
Guides her child strong or weak

Her smiles and blessings I remember
With all my heart would I surrender
You listened to my every word
No complaint, I ever heard

I lost a beautiful soul that day
God came and took my angel away
Heaven has gained a wonderful thing
A loving mother, a beautiful Queen

So even though you’re far away
My thoughts are with you every day
The memories and fun, I will keep
Within my heart, where you sleep

And when my time on earth is done
I know you'll come to collect your son

With Love Kevin

I'm trying not to cry. My one child is a boy, so I became especially emotional reading words that he has spoken but never put in poem form. It is a special relationship should there be no dysfunction in the family; parent/child relationships are the core, substance and roots of all. Great poem.
