Mulan At Gryffindour
Where will you live if we allow you to go to the U.K.?
Mulan hesitated. The only witch her family knew was Xianniang.
I will be well taken care of, she assured them.
They did not understand her ways, or the wizarding world.
Who will guard the Emperor if you leave?
She knew they were stalling. Li Shang had this in his sleep.
Imperial China is secure, she reassured them.
You can send letters to me through Minerva McGonagall.
You have powerful enemies, Hua Zhou reminded his daughter.
No worries, she told him, they will have a tough time reaching me.
I will be staying where most cannot go, many cannot find the platform.
The most brave, daring and chivalrous are there. Courage is their motto.
They sound fierce, her mother said. She smiled. “Like my daughter.”
Mushu and lucky cricket danced, thinking they were going.
You can go as far as Gryffindor’s Common Room, she told them.
No further. She looked harsh, but they knew she would fold.
“Let’s do a little magic, let’s play some little games.”
“Let’s create a little havoc by the River they call Thames.”
Mulan was more determined now than ever to leave them here.
She could not wait to put a mute spell on both of them.
