Andrea, It indeed is a wonderful experience to see Mt. Fuji from close and climb on it. Climb on it is a bit of adventure. Been there for a number of times and have scores of lovely snaps too. There is a legend there that says that if you go to Mt. Fuji once, it calls you to visit again. Also, Japanese revere the mountain and call it with respect as 'Fuji san'. Mohan
