Mr Rock and Roll

Here comes Mr rock and roll
who thinks its cool to be alone
I wonder if he thinks the same
Seven years to the day.

Walking down the street again
trying to find some friends to see
wondering why
No body interesting in you today.

When that day comes around
The words in your head will agree
Why did this happen to me?
People used to love me,

Then you'll wish that maybe you
Were kind to those broken hearts
Maybe you wouldn't be alone
Just staring at your silent phone.

Here comes Mr rock and roll
Another day spent on his own
Staring down at his phone
Poor Mr rock roll all alone.

Hi Crystal. I was delighted and honoured to be placed in your contest. A sincere thanks from one who is fairly new to writing and still finding my feet. Mr rock and roll is so true. Back in the day we had them, all hair and cool. Its fun to see them now, the cool gone the same way as the hair.Clever write that works on two levels, back then and today. Thanks again and sleep softly and in peace in 2011. Eamon

Also, rock and roll is just not rock and roll anymore. So I am looking at it symbolically as well. This was a really interesting read, Crystal. Luv, Andrea
