Mr Mcconnell

He speaks of what he knows Each line expressing in flow And it touches on what can be grown Learning how to sharpen a tongue, to hone Is something I’ve watched brothers fail to show Not that it is something to hide, to stow God’s great leaders have had that bestowed. I though have found myself in different trenches Struggles have frequently felt to me as benches Little league coaches telling me I can’t hit Elite intellectuals telling me I don’t know s**t Taller people insisting height matters Thin people insisting regular weight matters I have found judgement flows freely Not that it has ever helped in healing Good people can say hard things, well meaning God and time grant true mending Of course as they are the only ones tending. (Written in response to/inspired by Gordon McConnell- Just Be What I Am)
