Mourning Love
I linger in the doorway
watching you from across the room.
I'm frightened by what I see, and that's you without me.
Frozen inside without your touch
without you next to me, loving me.
Do you see how I mourn my love for you?
Have you forgotten all we had?
Am I just a memory to you?
With you,
I would rather have had one day of something wonderful
than a lifetime of nothing special.
For no one can capture
the passion and emotion of love
quite like you.
