My Mother was a very wise lady. So many people Loved my Mom because she was genuine, sincere, caring, and giving; always modest and humble, never ostentatious; never covetous; always honest and forthright. How she lived her life was the example I've always wanted and continue to try to follow.

She endured a lot of hardship and struggles, as she also endured the destructive repercussions of jealousy, not based on or around monetary reasons or materialistic possessions, but because of her integrity and so many positive qualities of her character. Her path of life was difficult but she loved to laugh and she lived to get the most she could out of life, despite her many obstacles. She's my Mentor, my Hero. I Love You, Mom!

One lesson I've learned in life, which makes no sense to me, Is the better type of person that you strive for to be, You'll attract more of those who will resent you for your good And why, I cannot see or make in my brain, this understood. My Mother once told me, "You'll know when a good person you are, For many will then seek to bring you down, your reputation, mar. The better at something you are, you'll attract a jealous crowd, But do not let the jealous folk cast over you a deterring cloud. Surround yourself with those who are true and appreciate The goodness of your character and what you are at, great. Ignore the wet blankets who wish to rain on your parade, Let them not discourage you nor from your best, dissuade. They only wish to bring you down to the level they are stooping. If you fall and play their game, then it's you they'll be duping. Never turn your back on them nor believe they are sincere, For there is a hidden agenda underneath their false veneer. Do remember too, the jealous like to gather in a pack, To accumulate strength to against another one, attack. Since cowards lack courage, are insecure on their own, They seek others, who like them, will jealousy, condone. Humbleness and honesty, traits of virtue and integrity, Aren't usually prevalent in a character of lesser quality. For when one's ego is given too much power and control, One's character is compromised, as well their heart and soul. Just know, when others are jealous and envious of you, They are because they're lacking, and know it to be true, Of your qualities which you choose to cultivate and hone, But they choose to covet rather than make them their own. Just keep on keeping on with trying to do your very best, Know the righteous path will earn you with God, Eternal Rest. Those who deliver the cruelties of the world will one day, pay, But for these lost souls, continue to, for them always, pray." Yes, Jan, she was very wise. She went through a lot of hardship & painful experiences that contributed to her wisdom. The tough times teach us the most & if we cultivate the right perspective, we can use our misfortunes as opportunities to grow & become better people. Thanks. It's my goal for her to be proud of me. :) hugs ~ Artsie xx
