Mother Nature

A misty haze creeps across the trees
with yellowed green skies on the breeze,
one large single cloud obliterates the day
making morning more like night that slides away.
A storm is coming, wild wind crazed
 darkened labyrinths and mazes
streaking lightning and rolling thunderclaps
while all the while, nature stills and naps.
A momentary hush drowns every sound
where nothing moves or stirs around
breathing in the threat of change
from summer heat to unleashed rain.
It's just a brief mother nature paused
 as she embraces menopause.
