Mother Earth, the Father's Creation
I believe in God the Father
And His awesome
Blessed Voice
Creator of this Mother Earth
Abused by Earthlings
Moment by moment
Choice
To deny global change
I find to be so very
Strange
There is an awful lot of pain
Because of our Earth's
Heavy strain
Did He not make the human
Race as caretakers
Of this special place?
I do not know what I can do
Conserve, go green
Recycle too
I can't do much, try as I might
But Earth is groaning
In this plight
I, you, can't do this all alone
But she is ill, and
Seems to groan
I pray that God Creator of all
Will give us wisdom
Without stall
That we will do all that we can
To do our best and
Lend a hand
Doing something is better than not
Together it really amounts
To a lot
The concept 'Mother Earth' is a concept from the Greco-Romans which personified the earth as a person, depicting Earth as a maternal being personality wise through it's nurture. I believe that God is the creator of this beautiful planet, and do not see earth as a creator, but as creation. I know it is a gift from God and He gives the gifts of all the goodness He designed this planet to produce which sustains the life forms He created in all the creatures living on the earth. I personally use the term 'Mother Earth' as a term in my poem, as our precious and one of a kind gift from God the Father.
"15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it." Genesis 2:15 ~ New King James Version
*************************************************************
'28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. ~ Genesis 1:28-30 ~ King James Version
The next verse, a dire warning, is from the Book of Revelation. I've inserted my notes in {brackets}:
"18 And the nations were angry; and Thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, {the resurrection} that they should be judged, and that Thou shouldest give reward {Blessings!} unto Thy servants the prophets, and to the saints and them that fear Thy name, small and great...."
{He loved and died for all of us, as noted in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." All who believe on Him, accepting His free gift of salvation through the Savior, Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, are a part of those receiving the rewards. Now for the rest of the verse in Revelation, the warning and anger to those who destroy His creation of the Earth}
"…...and shouldest destroy them that destroy the earth.”
{He has created us to be stewards of this beautiful planet He created. We can't change the end written in His book, but we can take personal responsibility to care about the Earth as much as we can. Maybe the act of trying to preserve it will indeed impact it in such a good way that it will last for a long time before the catastrophic end depicted in the book of Revelation. I can only hope and pray}
