Mother

Being such an admirable young boy
My existence was especially good
Benefiting from my loving parents
As any normal, typical boy would
Today I feel so wonderfully secure
And can identify just what’s real
Knowing that nurturing is praised
Sincerely positive about how I feel
Fully convinced I’m a fortunate son
That my mother was as strong as steel
Convinced that she had a special talent
For it was she who fed me my first meal
Put me through school and into college
Encouraged me to continue being faithful
Made me a man of honor and knowledge
Competent enough to handle life’s extremes
And when I think back on my best days
All the congratulations and ovations
There is no doubt that hard work pays
And I thank my mother for all she’s done.

Thank you Heidi. I've had a great relationship with my mom who just turned 88.
