Mother
To my mother, wherever she is
I'm sorry I wasn't good enough
I'm sorry you had to leave
But I was just a baby
I couldn't even read
But still you left
Without a word
To my father and I
And you took my dear sister Madison
And that made me want to cry
They said that you were somewhere
In North Carolina
But they wouldn't tell me where
And the only thing I remember
Is that is was very unfair
But that's life for you, isn't it?
Taking and leaving you with nothing but
Misery in return
And although you left us
And made it clear that your love wasn't there
I still love you
And I forgive you
Goodbye mother, this is all I am to say
And I hope that you read this
And hear what I have to say
