Mother

As mother soothes away our tears,
When no one else can understand,
Like a goddess yet never grand
Her light falls upon the darkest fears.

She comforts us so we may sleep,
As mother soothes away our tears,
Through the night until morning nears,
Do we hear her softly weep?

For she must let her child run free,
And face the pain that oft appears,
As mother soothes away our tears,
Her love is ours whatever may be.

She knows in her wisdom of years,
That life is not always pure or kind,
But our own path we have to find,
As mother soothes away our tears.
