Mosaic: On Missing the Morning

She described the morning as 
misty,
          dewy,
                    and delighted in its freshness. 
Drowsy
         from 
                  dreams

her waking filled with,
pastel clouds,
                       bright flowers,
                                               breeze-filled trees,
and joyous birdsong. 

She saw, felt,
                     heard 
                             and smelt
                                             the wondrous day.
2.
He described the morning as,
too
      early -- don’t rouse him.

Keep  the 
                curtains drawn
                                    and 
                                         leave him slumber.

Not for him the
                    morning freshness,
                                              morning beauty
                                                                or another dancing day.  
 Tell the twittering
birds to stop the noise --  just go away.

He 
     prefers
                 descent 
                             into the sard of sleep to
                                                                  dream 
                                                                            and dream again,

the dreams of only sleep.
