Mortality

Mortality

Being immortal would mean many things
You would not have the fear that death always brings

Never would you pray for your soul to keep
You would watch everyone die and forever weep

You could do good deeds, over and over again
Write endless poems to paper from pen

Many children would come and many a friend
You could watch their whole life and witness every end

As for me, I’ll take this life’s loss, love and pain
I’ll grow old and die, and try not to live in vain

Living forever is just not for me
I’ll embrace my mortality and accept what will be

We're all born to die, and if you live that life well it will lead you to everlasting life. Tom
