Mortal Matter

We are so engrossed with mortal matter...
That we simply ignore the important things...
Until we finally succumb & scatter...
Like dying music of tangled strings...!

We waste our moments to calculate...
What we lost & what we gained...
All things of value we relegate...
Until we are fully drained...!

Let us move beyond the mortal sheath...
And realize the mystery that life offers...
Only if we take time to see beneath...
We realize nothing separates Princes & paupers...!

The same bed awaits us all...
The same dust consumes our flesh...
No matter how you stand tall...
Your glories & riches are only a mess....!

Men have come & men have gone...
The race of life is still the same...
& the mystery continues on its own...
When & how will we read this game...???
