Morning's Night

Darkness lingers
morning's night
   Pillow beckons
   sandman's sleight 

Unearthly chill 
blanket-trapped
   Enveloping softness
   ambition snapped

Demonic dreams
fears unlocked
   Escape's pathways
   sealed up, blocked

Eyes peeled open
slumber resists
   Night surrenders
   Necessity persists
