Mornings

Sunny morning gives a promise
To become a pleasant day
I expect some light upon us
And the coolness of a shade
Misty morning gives no warning
How it’s going to develop
It could be a rain performing
Its drum solo on umbrella
Could be no precipitation
Just a usual grey day
Giving you no explanation
If you ask how long it’ll stay
I’ll walk out to Spar regardless
It’s the ritual I do
Living like a little mouse
In the house held by you
Mornings come to get away
As the clock speeds up the time
Comes the evening, just to say
“How are you?”, to hear “I’m fine".
