Morning Wishes
~
Frigid winds of autumn whispers
come this morning dark as night
Drifting ‘loft the barren branches
touching everything in sight
Here I start this dawning journey
chills now travel ‘long my skin
Cheeks of red and blushing wonder
as this new day does begin
Cold invades my heavy jacket
when the sun begins to rise
Lavender and coral ribbons
paint the frozen eastern skies
Soon the heavens will surrender
to a glowing amber hue
Pastels drift the lone horizon
softening the frosty view
Still my thoughts all seem to wander
past these shivers in my mind
To my daily destination
where my longing eyes will find
Greetings sent of morning wishes
on these artic days apart
For I know within her message
words will come to warm my heart
