Morning Thoughts
As light overpowers darkness
slowly grows my readiness,
against the odds, despite the cost
and all the battles that I lost,
to faithfully pursue once chosen God’s path
without asking questions or doing the math,
to play a part that’s rarely applauded
in this world of beauty so badly corroded,
and as the sun rises, birds begin to sing
I smile to myself: what will this day bring?
