Morning Thoughts

I wake with pain and struggle to stand, as I slowly learn how to be a man

I accept my life and enjoy most days, I’m like many others, in the most common ways

Yet still I’m different and reminded often, but words are just words, no need to soften

I listen to learn, not waiting for offense, I’ll look in your eyes to get some sense

Speak the truth, cut clean like a blade. Speak from the heart, don’t be afraid

Learn to be a ship that rides out the crushing wave, while encouraging all nearby to be inwardly brave
