"morning Start"

The morning light shines through my blinds...
Awakes me to a day that I hope will be kind..
First taste of coffee starts my mind flowing...
A little more sun peaks through as my room is glowing..
With a pad and pen I ponder what to write on this day..
Could be about a dream that passed through me as I lay..
Or could be a thought of the breeze that blows my curtains apart..
Or how my calendar is not so full for this Saturday start...
Might be about how the sun moves across the floor...
Or something different and new that will make my mind sore...
Well up and dressed to start this day, a little cool but then again
its only still May...

Love this! I love waking up on those days.....I'm new at soup and haven't had much time to read, but what I have so far has been great. I feel honored to be around so much talent! I look forward to reading more of your work. Hope you have a wonderful and safe weekend. Solita

This could have been my own poem....my own morning......perhaps many of us have had the same sort of quiet reflection upon rising....nicely written! You took me there! :)

Concepts for poems do seem to fill our heads both morning and evening when we have time to rest. Sometimes, this causes me to get out of bed and put the thoughts down quickly. Well conveyed message to which many writers can relate, Michael! Love, Carolyn
