Morning Rain

In the early morning rain
A dark and cold a cloudy day
She sings her song through her pain
He's up and left and gone away

Her heart is broke and crying now
Brown eyes red and full of tears
A painful sorrow below her brow
Silent echoes in her ears

Happy plans she used to have
Her spirits broke this morning dawn
Quenching hope without a laugh
As the morning rain has come and gone

A child awoke inside her mind
Days of playing and things she wore
Gone away and left behind
She sits and curls up on the floor

I seen her tears and heard her cry
Held her hand in the morning rain
Like a bird he had to fly
Now thanks to him she's gone insane
