Morning Light Sijo

Though the morning jazz trumpet wrapped her in chocolate silk,

Stiff and achy she sat afraid to do more than watch coffee steam rise,

A couple walked by holding hands, the man she knew was blind.

If you have never written in this form, then you are either very lucky or very good..both. I don't know if I have the courage to attempt this form. Nicely done and evocative, which is what any good poem should be. Thank you for your kindness. Gerard.

There is a touch of sadness in this poem. But such is life--sounds like she's making the best of it. Nicely done and thank-you for your comment.
