Morning Fair

Morning fair

       Greetings to this morning fair,
       And good-bye to dreams of fancy,
       Hello to signs of forgotten times
       Here tied to our kingdoms passing;
       Though we hear a word for passions spent,
       We mourn its quick demise
       Far beyond a flickering star

       Feel the time when daylight brakes
       Into a mountains silver beauty,
       And sound the words of poet’s thought
       In this time of change;
       Let come the worth to this naked earth
       As a crimson sunlight shines
       Into this morning fair
