More Than Words Will Allow

The poems I read, are poems of love
Poems of trust and romance
You know the poems I'm speaking of
Poems of a moonlit dance

I tried to write you a poem like this
But my pen doesn't work that way
The poems I write, just always miss
The things that I'm trying to say

Even the masters, the poets of old
Haven't written one worthy of you
I've even written of my heart that you stold
But we both know that's simply not true

For the heart that's beating now in my chest
Was yours, the very first time that we met
You didn't make it easy, but I tried my best
Though you always played so hard to get

But I guess most of all, what I'm trying to say
Is that I love you more that words will allow
And if the world should end, even today
Then I will love you forever somehow
