More Than Misery

We war not, with flesh and blood you see,
The battle for our soul, is inside of you and me.
It’s the darkness, that the world slips in the heart,
all the hurt, anger and frustrations, it tears us all apart.
We all have our own battles, in this life you see,
warring against flesh and blood, only adds to our misery.
When all the hurt, anger and pain, is alive inside,
from these things, we have no place to hide.
We have to face them, head on in truth you see,
our one true battle, is inside of you and me.
To take those things, that destroys the heart,
thoughts, feelings and emotions, play there very part.
Putting them in, there true rightful place,
with forgiveness, understanding and grace.
To see, to know, and to understand,
the battle of the soul, isn’t fought by hand
There is a way, that seems right to us, you see,
yet they only bring about, more than misery.
