More or Less

The more I learn, the less I know, the more I need to learn.
I have watched you come and go with eyes that ache and burn.
I’ve decided unrequited love will never turn.
The more I learn, the less I know, the more I need to learn.

The more I give, the more you take, the less I have to give.
It could be a big mistake but it’s my life to live.
I have seen you, beauty queen, I’m always your captive.
The more I give, the more you take, the less I have to give.

I have seen my future in your eyes
Amid the heartless smiles and the terrible cold lies.
Answers can be found in the past
But I cannot seem to pierce the shadows that you cast.

The more I see, the less I feel, the less I want to see.
Visions that I doubt are real presented subtly.
I have known what you have shown is not what you would be.
The more I see, the less I feel, the less I want to see.

The more I know, the less I learn, the more I’ve got to know.
I can pay what you will earn if you will tell me so.
You have spoken, I am broken. You have laid me low.
The more I know, the less I learn, the more I’ve got to know.

I have seen the future in disguise.
So why should it be it always takes me by surprise?
I don’t want the answers, still I ask.
I’m afraid the truth won’t save me ‘til the very last.

More is less than less is more, I see that more or less.
Tell me what I’m waiting for if you think you can guess.
I believe I can perceive what you never confess.
More is less than less is more, I see that more or less.
