Notes About The Poem
See my poem " Once called a season" this is its Palinode.... "A palinode is a type of ode that’s written to retract something the author included in a previous poem" -

More broken than wreathen

If by taking a momentarily recant, would you commit me to treason
My thoughts conclusion would only draw a blame
You drew deep breath, blowing out our flame
Pathetic I be, for the worthless way I complain

Inside a massive bleakness, my feelings are proclaim;
With blind eye daggers, my cause was nothing but pain
Expecting found sympathy defines me totally insane
But an ignorant twisted season left something far more broken than wreathen

I went back and read "Once called a season" then I read this. The last line was very powerful....with so much truth.

I found the poetic form of a palinode to be an interesting concept. Both of these poems are about different base feelings brought out through the same concept of a breakup. One side feeling rejection the other side feeling introspection. Warmest regards A.S.
