Moon's Holiday
The moon decided to take an holiday
sleeping behind clouds there she stayed
The night grew dark and the rain pour down
so much rain earth thought it would drown
The day shone forth and to earth's delight
the sun came out shining bright
But is the dusk begin to display
the moon was still on her holiday
The thunder boomed and rain resumed
lighting flashed into darkness it slashed
No moon to shine for lovers to pine
instead she sleeps in clouds benign
Dawn broke forth as the sun rose
noticing the moon as she doze
Pardon me as the sun spoke
slowly the little moon woke
Have you been sleeping all night
the stars say your a shameful sight
Will you glow as you used to do
the earth really does miss you
As the evening begin to shade
the sun bowed down as he fades
The moon embarrassed glowed bright red
up all night she stayed out of bed
No more holiday she glowed all night long
and the night was tranquil and calm
The night was silent and the stars filled the sky
and the soaking earth that night remained dry.
