Moonrise

Now bring your rain to fall on me To wash away my deep regrets I know how lost it all can be To one who's only seen sunsets But rise, pure heart, sweet sanguine gem But rise, and I cannot condemn Nor you, nor I, nor all the world Can know the perfect taint within a pearl Agitation grows perfection All things stem from darkest dust Diamonds, pearl, love's complexion Know its name is what it was So dark, so dank, so damp and cold, In loneliness 'gins love. Not gold But silver, lunar, somber shines In where are found love's anodynes So shine the moon upon my soul So taint my eyes in crimson's stead So bring your rain to make me whole Oh leave the past for dead Let us live the moment's endless loss of space and time Let us live, let us regret, forgive this heart of mine Not sun, but moon, not gold, but grey Nor heart nor mind is here to stay No tears could ever fade away Let live the dark, let fall the day Let stormclouds fall, content, contrite Completion, oh what death is right When never torn away from sight? The sunset is so beautiful Tonight.
