Moonlit Memories
Do you remember that long-ago night
Sitting beside the sapphire pool
The moon reflected in platinum white
Gleaming facet on an aqua jewel
Like two angels, fallen, in the moonlight
We stayed up late, plucking harp and heart strings
As we wished upon a meteorite
‘Neath the silky setting of our large wings
Yet still not quite large enough to take flight
For the one thing that’s kept us both grounded
Is being content with the small things in life
By loving auras so warmly surrounded
With a heart-shaped harp and a poem to write
As sure as azure is bluer than true
I still remember that long-ago night
Serenading the moon with you.
