Notes About The Poem

Moon and I Tonight

Moon And I Tonight

Standing in the shadows
I fall down to my knees.
Looking at its beauty
as I peek between the trees.

Thinking that I go unseen
the moon it cannot see.
Yet feeling oh so far away
there's someone watching me.

Forever never changing
the moon remains the same.
How can it be it seems to me
it's calling out my name.

Rising from the shadows
out of my hiding place.
Finding comfort for my soul
in moonlight on my face.

The stars for now are hidden
the moon still shining bright.
It seems like we are all alone
the moon and I tonight.

Answers to the questions sought,
the things I didn't know.
Uncovered and discovered
here in the moonlights glow.

Excellent piece Edwin. Sometimes it feels like we are alone with the moon.
