MONSTERS
MONSTERS
Legends myths and old wives tales
From T.V film and book,
Are monsters real or fantasy
Let’s take a closer look.
Bram Stokers Dracula
The original vampire name,
Meant a simple walk just after dark
Was never the same again.
The late nineteenth century
When his legend came to be,
From a castle in Transylvania
Across many lands and sea.
A four hundred year old immortal
From his coffin he will rise,
His vampire teeth will drain your blood
As he stares into your eyes.
He will claim your soul as he consumes you
On your body he will dine,
An undead bride of Satan
Count Dracula`s concubine.
Sunlight at the break of dawn
Or a stake right through his heart,
Are the only ways to kill him
Then this world he will depart.
Then Dr Frankenstein and Igor
A monster they did create,
Seven foot tall and body parts
They sealed their monsters fate.
Grotesque cuts and stitches
With bolts right through his neck,
Sent villagers with pitch forks and torches
To the castle for too wreck.
The poor creature escaped the castle
And in the windmill he was found,
But the fear full villagers took no pity
And burned him to the ground.
To the tormented soul of the werewolf
From a good man who was bitten,
To a gypsy curse in the moonlight
In a story that’s long since written.
The full moon brings the beast to life
As his body is broken and bent,
Then he howls and claws in the darkness
Then he sniffs with his nose for a scent.
It will hunt you down with no mercy
He can rip anybody apart,
It can sense and smell your fear for miles
It can hear the beat of your heart.
The only way to kill it
Is a silver bullet or a blade,
To cleanse it`s soul and free it
From its murderous tirade.
We’ve got mummies warlocks and demons
And the creeper who hunts you till June,
Monsters of the deep and a shark called jaws
And the creature from the black lagoon.
We’ve got Dr Jekyll and MR Hyde
Pin head goblins and elves,
Norman Bates and Bigfoot
And even the devil himself.
There is penny wise and Freddy Krueger
Who like get inside your head,
Damien from the omen
And zombies who rise from the dead.
Sadako Yamamura with the long black hair
She will crawl out from inside your telly,
Invisible predators from outer space
And aliens that burst out your belly.
Michael Myers the boogie man
He seems to feel no pain,
Shoot him stab him burn him
He just gets up again.
A truly evil presence
With his walk and frightening stare,
His boiler suit and human mask
With an unkempt head of hair.
He killed dozens trying to reach the one
His sister Laurie Strode,
Murderous since the age of six
In evil killer mode.
There is only one way to escape Michael
Even if you have a gun,
Scream like hell and don’t look back
And run run run.
The headless horseman and the woman in black
They would keep you up at night,
Peeking out from the back of the couch
Waiting on your next fright.
King Kong and Godzilla
They’ve laid New York to waste,
Velociraptor and the T Rex
Will make you move in haste.
Then there is Jason Voorhees
He`s indestructible as well,
He wreaks havoc on Friday the thirteenth
On his annual trip from hell.
He kills them in camp Crystal Lake
He`s even killed in space,
He wears a pot holed hockey mask
To hide his gruesome face.
From old films to the new films
We all like a good scare,
Till it`s time to put the lights out
And head of up the stair.
Lying in the darkness
With monsters in your head,
Scared to go to the toilet
In case something’s under the bed.
Then you catch a glimpse of something
In the corner of the room,
Then you breathe a sigh of relief
It`s just a red balloon.
THE END.
