Monster Love
I embrace my bleak solitude
yesterday, it had a different face
a monster crept into my space
asking for only water and food
he was cold—I held him close
Worship served at the bed table
the platter held intense passion
we ate from the tray—no ration
sensuously and sexually unstable
no food for the collateral heart
Nowhere can you find the why
leaving me alone with damage
how do I go on and manage
hope he dies—then I sigh--
hurt is what I really want
He returns to me aroused
I resist but still want him
deep adoration, no whim
my lover and I fought--
quickly he left
after my eye
bluish, scarlet loving punch
