Monitoring the Mercury

Where I abode not far from the region of the Mother Lode, Though days of century degrees have been fewer this year,

We'll enjoy such treats as best we can, but still, I fear. The summer is still a season-long even though Fall draws near.

But if summer should end with less 100-degree mercuries, I shall Never a tear, and may we not forget that these toasty western skies

Will never relinquish their claim to fame, and about the sunny blue Canopy's proneness to creating changes, let's be very clear.
