La Gioconda or Mona Lisa is the name I’m called When our eyes meet I know you’ll be enthralled I sit here so serenely in my gorgeous gilded frame People flock to see me, they love to say my name Mona Lisa, people coo as they look at my lovely smile I gaze back intently, my sweet smile it does beguile My Parisian home’s been the Louvre for many years One glimpse of my face can move my visitors to tears I used to worry that I’d get bored hanging high upon the wall But with a constant stream of admirers I don’t get bored at all Painting Chosen - The Mona Lisa By Leonardo Da Vinci Contest: Within a Gilded Frame Sponsored by Broken Wings 05~08~16

This is lovely, dear Jan!! We visited Paris last month, and I was SO excited at the Louvre.. Especially because it's The Da Vinci Code's setting! The Mona Lisa's not that big though, but beautiful. All the best in the contest, hope this does very well!! :) :)

I've always found the Mona Lisa a huge disappointment, though I've written a few poems on her. Trying to get a glimpse of her at the Louvre is frustrating – she's too small and hung too far. The French should provide tourists with binoculars! Loved your take on her, however. / M

YES< you are MONA LISA and you NEVER come down from your gilded frame. Good thinking, Jan, to put yourself AS that person in the portrait. who would not love all that admiration for all those years. Great job.
