Mommy's Perfect Little Girl
Forgive me sweet girl for putting you through hell
For the times you were crying as I went off to jail
Did I even love you? How could you tell?
Forgive me sweet girl for putting you second to dope
I left you no choice but to learn how to cope
Where did you find so much love and such hope?
Forgive me sweet girl for living life full of sin
As I battled addiction I let you watch addiction win
Why'd I make the same mistakes again and again?
Forgive me sweet girl for the tears and the pain
You were always my sunshine; I was always your rain
What was my problem? Was I going insane?
Forgive me sweet girl for destroying your world
For not holding you tight like a clam holds a pearl
One thing is certain you've always remained mommy's perfect little girl
