Moments

i have sat at this table
where it all began
that Lady and Tramp dream
came at last to fruition
the checkered table cloth
chianti bottle adorned in melted wax
where light dances in shadows
across your face
and in the passing years
seen your hint of coming grey
adorn the weather of time
come full measure 
where the bud yields to the rose
in that blossom my eyes always see
the depth and breadth
of the heart, i love so much
as i reach across, take your hand
the ring reminds me
you graced my life
an earthly existence worth living in
