mom wanted to change Lenores hairdo

Lenore was a grumpy teenage girl with rainbow hair
She was miffed with her mom, and she did not care
Her mother wanted her to comb and tame her mane
That did not interest the artistic grumpy queen of Cain

Lenore stomped around until her feet swelled up
Refused to feed the cat or water her Daddy’s pup
I love my hair the way it is right now!
Her daddy came by and agreed with a “wow!”

Grumpy girl’s mother finally let it slide.
She took her daughter to church, but wanted to hide.
Old ladies surrounded them before they got out the door.
“Wish I had done that!” “This is beautiful on you, Lenore!”
