Mom

My mother is very gentle and kind
A heart of gold, but a worried mind

She to me is the world and the best
Never complains or utters contest

The bringer of life is a committed love
To her children, who squabble and shove

Finding strength when we were in danger
Guarding us from every stranger

Guiding light in a sea of fear
Enchanting voice to soothe our fears

Mamma ensures your bellies full and never cold
The smartest teacher and always bold

A pedestal above your earthly needs
And so to her I do this deed

An ode to small to log in time
But it’s for mom… A gift of mine
