Mom

We have experienced many rings like the growth of a tree Mother to baby, to child, to young adult and a friend to me. I am grateful the Creator chose you as my mother My essence loves and respects you as no other. Our connection has produced a kaleidoscope of adventure Events with pleasurable significance are the ones that nurture. You are the one constant presence throughout my life You have watched me go through much and deal with strife. Of your children, I am the one in pursuit of unseen I have always appreciated your intuition so keen. It has been hard for you to understand my sensitivity Afraid I would be hurt in the world of hostility. You looked for and fostered the very best In your children you expected nothing less. A model you are of all that is good You have given me the want to be all that I could. Between a mother and a child there is a bond It is like a fairy waving a magical wand. To each other’s lives we are plugged in The connection is a circle with no beginning or end. There have been times we did not see eye to eye When opposite sides of the circle we lie. Being on opposite sides can be good Another’s perspective becomes understood. It has been awesome watching your life unfold How you have dealt with tragedy, emotion and feelings untold. You have turned bad into good within your mind The world could use many more of your kind. For both of us, there is much more ahead There is plenty to do and plenty to be said. Remember, “You are over the hill and gaining speed” The chapters ahead will be an adventure indeed. Words seem very inadequate somehow To express the depth that our spirit’s allow. There is not a force known that could tear us apart I love you, Mom, with all of my heart.
