Moldy Cellars
Once when we were young
we thought we could reach
the rainbow’s treasure,
how life does unteach
naivety’s first truths,
and does innocence
suffer loss in fires
of meticulous
rules of behavior,
enshrined by elders
who secret themselves
in moldy cellars?
