Modern Times

Living a life so utterly blind
In deep recesses of the mind
Male or female who's to say
So fluid in this day and age
One's assimilation is what they claim
No identity is one to shame
So many choices in modern time
Like a new born kitten don't be blind
LGBTQI exists today
Now non-binary comes into play
Birth assigned gender, matters not
Echoes in eternity the given lot

Yep, human sexuality is no longer a binary game and, personally. I wish the media wouldn't feed the issue. Journeys aren't meant to be cookie cutter (imagine how boring that would be.) This is the first poem I've read on the topic and I find it wise, profound, straight hitting in terms of acceptance which is and has been the answer since questions began so very long ago. Poetically delivered w/ engaging rhyme. A poem of the times that should be read, Michael. Poetry hugs...CayCay
