Modern Medi Miracle

(To be sang to the tune of...
   "Modern Major General" by Gilbert and Sullivan)

I am the very model of a modern medi miracle.
I've defied all odds against prognosis. It's hysterical!
I've so many issues now,
Still living and I don't know how.
I am the very model of a modern medi miracle.

I shouldn't have made fifty - I'm now an octogenarian!
The Guinness Book of Records have now started on their queryin'.
I've simply lived a healthy life
Without unnecessary strife.
I am the very model of a modern medi miracle.

I've found humour through the darkest and most trying of all times.
Sometimes there are no words and no, nor are there any clever lines.
But funny strikes through thick and thin,
Convinces us that we can win
And somehow lightens heavy loads when things start to look frightenin'.

It made me feel quite proud when I was dubbed by docs "the alpha male"
This means I'm extra strong and so to prove them right I will not fail.
This power that resides in me
Gives me the capability
To be a living proof that there are modern medi miracles.

I've found joy in things I see. The sky. The plant life and the bird.
My soul is often lifted by the natural music I have heard.
Yes. Not all meds are clinical.
There's love. There's faith. To add to all,
It helps to be a model of a modern medi miracle.

There are special people who have always stood right by my side.
Those closest to my heart have listened to the tears I have cried.
So looking back it's obvious,
Lest you be oblivious
Why I am the model of a modern medi miracle!

I wrote it for my grandad but thought it would be a fun one to share especially for older ones to enjoy. The way age wears on people I hope it helps ones to find the lighter side tho it's hard to do at times :-D
