mockingbird attacks wiggling worm on hot driveway.... briefly hold brake down
God blesses in so many ways. I see the Mockingbird that feeds from the ground and then drive up the road short way and there are about 8 or 10 swallows feeding from the air.

Anitha, Nothing like seeing a Mockingbird chasing a snake across the yard. Some birds are tough. Thanks for stopping by. Sara

Phyllis, Thank you for dropping by. I appreciate the thoughtful comments. So far our immediate family has been well as far as the virus goes. There have been high numbers here but much of it was in the nursing homes. They have been doing testing here at the hospital where I have been taking my grandson for PT and the lines were long at the being of the testing. Also some doctor offices have been testing. SK

We don't have mocking birds in South Africa but I understand they are a clever bird and can mimic humans! Well penned Sara, Blessings, Jennifer.

Jennifer, They have an unusual call. I am sure there is a recording of them on the internet for one to listen. One way I identify them is there call. Some say they imitate other birds but I think it is all their own sound. Thanks for the visit to my page. I appreciate you stopping by. Sara

I see this quite often in my front yard. I have a school of mockingbirds constantly singing or just tease my dog. Love your Haiku. Hugs Eve

Eve, The mockingbird is a very assertive bird especially when they have young. They will swoop down for dogs and cats alike sometimes the cat or dog wins the war though and their babies are left without their parent/parents. Your presence at my page is uplifting. Sara

Mockingbirds do have droppings and also do like to drop by. He stops on top of roof corner and sings his brains out.

James, Thanks for the visit to my page. Yes, we have several families of Mockingbirds in our yard. They are one tough bird. I have seen them swoop down and chase a snake across the yard. They will swoop down and attack you if they think you are going to bring harm to their family. Sara

L.P., Your comment is uplifting. We are trying to avoid the virus but it gets a little more threatening with each passing day. One would think that everyone would soon be exposed and it would die down but it seems to go into every corner and find those that haven't had it. Sara
