moaning meadow

oh petal, my petal
sweet petal of mine
I long for the rose
that left you behind

one yellow, bed fellow
so fragrant, sublime
red, purple, and pink
a rainbow to climb

what medal, sweet petal
do you hope to find
alone in the meadow
with love on your mind

oh petal, my petal
sweet petal of mine
so lonely, so mellow
the last of your kind
