Mistress of the Game

When she arrives, she owns the room,
with a stunning grace,
she commands her captive audience
with promise on her face.
An intoxicating temptress,
few will ever know her well,
she’s alluringly illusive
casting her seductive spell.
Addictive and disloyal,
she can tear your world apart,
twist your judgments shamelessly
and charm your foolish heart.
She’ll blow a kiss at random
and flirt relentlessly,
just when you think she’s yours alone,
she’ll hunger to be free.
To feel her momentary touch,
the sweetest prize of all,
then she’s gone in a flash
indifferent as you fall.
Her company is fleeting,
notorious by name,
she is known as Lady Luck
the Mistress of the Game.
