Mistreatment

You look at me And all you see are flaws Ad you judge From your unconstructive criticism You will not yield Or even budge You possess the knack Or ability To leave me feeling low Like I am dumb or stupid But it’s something That you already know You leave me feeling Unwanted, dirty Unloved and ashamed Instead of being proud You make me Hate what I was named You’ve taken away Every ounce of confidence And also my self-esteem You’ve managed To destroy all my hopes And even my dreams You’ve taken my trust In anything That is good You make me believe That I will forever Remain misunderstood
