Misted

For just a moment it was there
For just a moment I saw
The clouds in the heavens
It seems had begun to fall

Lingering in the meadows
Embracing all the shadows
They had come down to rest on the earth
As the sun rose, announcing day's birth

Who, but me, could have foreseen
What was witnessed in that fraction of an instant
I understood all that I possessed
And what it truly meant

For you've somehow brought the clouds to my feet
Just as they were in that distant field
Strange how I never understood I was incomplete
Or grasped the transformation I could feel

How few mortals have taken a walk through the clouds
Who can say they've experienced both the transitory and the unearthly
Is this transpiration even allowed?
And is it something of which I'm worthy?

For just a moment I was there
For just a moment in the air
As I walked on the clouds with you
Knowing it was all I ever wanted to do.
